Therapeutic Evaluation And Treatment Of Toe Walking

(Pediatric Equinus Gait)

This seminar is excellent for alleviating a chaotic approach to the treatment of pediatric toe walking. Through an organized evaluation procedure, specific data will be used to direct the clinician to potential etiologies. Causes and appropriate intervention strategies are identified in order to utilize a systematic approach to developing an effective treatment plan.

Evaluation &  of Pediatric Toe Walking from PT & OT Perspectives DAYS 3 & 4!

Previously introduced, the Act! (Assessment Criteria for Toe walking) is further utilized in a guided, evidence-based, detailed, decision making process to design treatment sessions & implement long term treatment plans. Clinical application skills are enhanced via the design of detailed evaluation & treatment plans by using case studies, videos & objective data. Finally, demonstration of interventions is performed with specific children proposed by course participants.

Development of Pediatric Gait: “When, Why & How to Intervene.”

This seminar addresses the flaws of a “wait and see” approach, while supporting proactive & preventive intervention. This course emphasizes the value of deliberate intervention for pediatric gait. Course content highlights gait and the relationship with the sensory systems, movement and activity. Neuroplasticity, and the opportunities for therapists, is presented regarding qualities of ideal mobility. Orthopedic development is presented as it concerns appropriate development of an adequate base of support and assessment of the pediatric lower quarter.

Therapeutic Evaluation & Treatment of Pediatric Gait & Posture
This seminar provides insight into age appropriate assessment and intervention strategies. Postural biomechanics and muscle physiology are considered relevant to orthotic choice, design, use & misuse. Practical lab session provides participants with skills and treatment tools to immediately put into practice. Essentials of Foot Function with Implications for the Management of Pathologic Pediatric Gait. This seminar utilizes the sciences of kinesiology, biomechanics, & muscle physiology, & the development of the somatosensory system and postural control, to present a variety of treatment approaches for pediatric gait dysfunction. The essential need for a thorough knowledge of developmental foot anatomy & biomechanics is emphasized as imperative for successful intervention.

Play With Purpose: Implementing a Holistic Approach in Pediatric OT & PT for Children with Developmental Delays

To effectively attend to human performance, a thorough understanding of both motor AND sensory systems is necessary.  This course provides a clinically relevant, organized approach to the assessment and treatment of children with poor academic, gross and fine motor performance. Emphasis is on the synchrony of sensory performance and motor ability, so that clinicians may approach pediatric therapy from an all inclusive perspective. Didactic and descriptive information is supplemented with videos and active experiences for optimum understanding.
